It's Friday, the sun is shining, and most of us are just a few short hours from starting our weekend! Lucky for us, we live in perpetual paradise, and there are always fun events for the whole family to get out and enjoy. Here's a quick look at what's going on around Bay County this weekend, so you can start making your plans!
Start your weekend off right with some "adult time" tonight, and enjoy some cold drinks and live music! The Lookout Lounge will be hosting Melissa Bowman, followed by the Big Bear Band tonight starting at 6 pm. A local favorite, the Terry Brock Band, will be playing at Schooners all weekend, so make sure to head by and check them out. If you prefer to make your own sweet (or not so sweet) music, you can swing by the Blue Moon Bar and Grill in Lynn Haven and participate in the Uno Mas Karaoke Night, which is sure to be a great time!
If you're out and about early on Saturday morning, and need a little help finding your center, stop by the One Heart Yoga Studio at 9 am and enjoy a FREE community Vinyasa Yoga class with instructor Caroline San Juan Czubaj. This is an intermediate level class, so only those with some prior yoga experience should attend! If that seems a little too challenging for you, there's also an African Carribean Drum and Dance Project at the Global Arts Society. This event starts at 9:30 am, and is also free to the public, although any donations are appreciated. Go learn rhythm and percussion basics, and gain an education on African and Caribbean Culture and dance!
A little later in the evening, Gulf Coast State College will be hosting a free concert featuring CMT's own Courtney Cole! This event will be held in the gymnasium beginning at 5:30 pm, and is a family friendly event, so bring the kids and jam out together! Afterwards, take the short trip down Thomas Drive and stop by Club LaVela to enjoy the Ultimate Prince Experience - the Purple Masquerade! This truly unique event has traveled around the country and will be at LaVela for one night only, so don't miss out! Doors open at 7, the show starts at 8, and this all ages show is sure to be a one-of-a-kind experience to remember for the whole family.
Finally, Sunday's are the perfect day to chill out and prepare for the new week, so pack up a cooler and head over to the beach for some much deserved rest & relaxation! The weather is supposed to be beautiful, and the beaches are full of locals at this time of year, so you're almost sure to run into some friends with whom to enjoy some fun in the sun! Make sure to pack your sunscreen and stay hydrated, folks, and above all, have fun in our little slice of paradise, Panama City Beach!
